Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany)

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is one of the largest research and educational institutes in the world. It was established in 2009 as a result of the merger of the Technical University of Karlsruhe and the Research Center of the Helmoltz Association in Karlsruhe.

The institute combines the missions of its two predecessors, the University of Baden-Württemberg with teaching and research tasks and a large-scale research institution of the Helmholtz Association, conducting program-oriented research on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. In view of these missions, the Institute operates within three strategic fields of action - research, education and innovation.
